What we do
The cool thing about CrossFit is that everyone who walks through our doors – men and women, students and grandparents, lifelong athletes and first-time visitors – can all work out together and be equally challenged. At CrossFit Thelo, we attack every aspect of fitness: endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance, and accuracy. Our workouts are variable to suit your specific abilities, allowing everyone in the gym, at any level of fitness, to perform the same type of movements at once. Over time, as you get stronger and gain new skills, the workouts increase in difficulty so that you're constantly improving.
Fitness is an essential part of living a healthy and balanced life. As you increase your abilities in the gym, you'll be able to do more outside the gym as well. And you'll feel and look great! Additionally, the community at CF Thelo is incredible, and is an essential part of helping you reach your fitness goals. As a part of our family, any time you step foot in the gym you can encourage and be encouraged in return.
As a trainer, the best part of my job is seeing members of CF Thelo do things they never thought they would be capable of doing. I love being part of that transformation.
—John Mayfield, Level 1 Trainer and CrossFit Thelo Owner
“ROUTINE IS THE ENEMY. KEEP WORKOUTS SHORT AND INTENSE.”
Greg Glassman, CrossFit CEO and Founder
CrossFit is constantly varied functional movements performed at relatively high intensity. All CrossFit workouts are based on functional movements, and these movements reflect the best aspects of gymnastics, weightlifting, running, rowing and more. These are the core movements of life. They move the largest loads the longest distances, so they are ideal for maximizing theamount of work done in the shortest time. Intensity is essential for results and is measurable as work divided by time—or power. The more work you do in less time, or the higher the power output, the more intense the effort. By employing a constantly varied approach to training, functional movements and intensity lead to dramatic gains in fitness.
